Why look after your ivy?

An unmaintained growth of ivy can severely damage structures. For the ivy to remain a very hardy, fast-growing climbing plant, it should be reduced, trimmed or completely removed.

Climbing ivy or ground-keeping vines add natural beauty to gardens and are wonderful for ground-keeping. Plants like this are extremely versatile, and are often used to hide unsightly walls, fences, or other structures in the garden.

Regardless, ivy stems can become highly aggressive once established and highly invasive to other plants and trees. Although climbing ivy may seem romantic, it can grow quickly, creep and spread throughout your garden, taking over everything in its path.
